Speaker
District Governor Sylvia White was introduce by Leon. She has attended four International Conventions, is involved with Leadership Tallahassee, and is soon heading to Prague to sing with a chorus. There are goals of Rotary on the International, District, Club, and Personal levels. The number one priority is to defeat Polio, and so far we have raised $133m internationally. That’s two-thirds of the amount that Bill and Melinda Gates offered to match. Our District has contributed $60k. There is a new grant funding structure coming in 2013, with more of an emphasis on contributing to the Permanent Fund. Rotary is always rated very high by Reuters for its philanthropic use of funds. At the May 2010 Council Meeting they announced a new fifth avenue of service – New Generations. Part of that effort is to setup strictly online clubs. Those clubs must have a minimum of 20 members to start and dues are as low as $25 a quarter. The next Rotary Leadership Institute is this coming January in Panama City. Other upcoming events are the District’s Membership Seminar and the Tallahassee Foundation Gala. We were encouraged to put Rotary International in our wills

It will depend on the governmental and private industry leadership.
